Research on Hearing and Vision Impairments Moves to Heerhugowaard

Our PhD candidate, Esther Veenman, is investigating the impact of combined hearing and vision impairments on daily life (https://lowvisionresearchamsterdam.com/project/vab/). Over the past year, she has been collecting data at Visio Het Loo Erf in Apeldoorn. To recruit more participants from a different part of the country, Visio Heerhugowaard has kindly made a room available to continue the research. Two weeks ago, the move took place: all the necessary equipment, including a very heavy audiometric booth, was transported to Heerhugowaard. Thanks to the professional movers, everything went smoothly.

People with both hearing and vision impairments, as well as those with only a visual or only a hearing impairment, are warmly invited to participate in this important study. Their involvement will help improve our understanding of how such impairments affect daily functioning, which in turn may contribute to better support and care.
