Rob van der Linden
PhD candidate
Rob van der Linden is a health scientist who graduated from VU University Amsterdam in 2021. After completing his studies, he started as a PhD student at the low vision research group of Amsterdam UMC. Here he conducts research into depression and anxiety in people with visual impairment, with the aim of developing and testing a stepped-care intervention for adults aged 18 to 50 years, in order to realize the implementation of this method within rehabilitation/care institutions for the blind and partially sighted and the ophthalmology outpatient clinic of Amsterdam UMC.
What makes doing research interesting and challenging for him?
Rob likes to do research with people with a visual impairment because he has a visual impairment himself. He uses his own experience to improve care for this target group. Rob is interested in the perspectives of others and he finds it challenging to learn new things all the time.
