Marjolein Onnink

Marjolein earned her master’s degree in educational sciences with “positive development and positive psychology” as her major. After several years of practical experience, she completed the post master’s program in health care psychology. Her interest lies in connecting practice and research. In addition to her clinical work, she has been involved in the Psyvis Impact Study.

As of 2024, she is focusing on the doctoral research project ART-VI: Active Recovery Triad – Visual Impairment, in collaboration with the Robert Coppes Foundation. The principles of Active Recovery Triad and Moral Deliberation are being explored within long-term care for adults with visual impairment and severe psychiatric illness. The goal is to improve quality of care and quality of life.

What makes doing research interesting and challenging for her?

Marjolein feels committed to people with visual impairment and additional problems. She likes to think in terms of possibilities and supports a recovery-oriented approach. For her, the participatory action research ART-VI is an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of people with visual impairment and severe psychiatric disorder.
